I received this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review.

I will start by saying that if you are not a fan of Christian fiction then this is not the book for you.  This book has a lot of religious references and passages throughout that could be considered too much by even those who are not opposed to the genre.

This was a clean and wholesome read.  It was fascinating that the premise was about the colonization of Alaska in the 1930's.  This was the highlight for me knowing that although fiction that real events were intertwined within the story.  It is amazing to know that people relocated to this unknown territory in the hopes of building a new life.

The story of Gwyn was nice.  A character who lived to help others and live through honest and hardworking means.  Her journey to falling in love was innocent and at times refreshing from some of the other literature that is dominating the bookshelves.  Jeremiah's character was the same.  Mix in some bad guys and you have a story.

I will admit that although I have read quite a bit of Christian fiction I did find that there was a lot of gratuitous religion thrown in that was not necessary.  There was no need to have the characters sit through "bible" study and then write out the passages in the pages of the story.  It was a little too much and threw of the balance of mixing religion and spirituality in the story.  This could turn some readers off.

Overall I thought this was an ok read.
