Review: Play Me Real by Tracy Wolff (Play Me #4)

My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to escape the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m on my own, in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . just the way I like it. Until Sebastian Caine changes everything.

Aria has learned to play Sebastian’s game. She’s given him control, taken it back, and let him push her farther than she ever imagined she could go. But when Sebastian’s past comes to light, Aria receives a glimpse behind the facade—a revelation that disturbs her even as it makes her feel closer to this simmering, complicated man. Finally she comes to understand the real reason why Sebastian feels the need to dominate everything in his path. But Aria has a tortured history, too. And together they’re a dangerous combination. Now she’s the one pushing Sebastian to the breaking point . . . and if one of them burns up, they’ll both go down together.

Kristine's Thoughts:

I received an advanced readers copy from Loveswept via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.  Thank you!

Play Me Real is the fourth instalment of the eBook original series Play Me. Again, this instalment continues Aria and Sebastian's story where Play Me Hard (#3) leaves off.

In this instalment Aria learn about Sebastian's past and secrets. We still don't know about Aria's past but at this point you can pretty much figure it out, at least I could anyway. The majority of the story revolves around Sebastian's history and the reader gets a better look at why he is the way he is. Aria is also enlightened.

There is a pretty intense sexual encounter between the two characters towards the end that I don't even know how to put into words. Let me just say that it is a bit of a game changer for their growing relationship. Again it leaves you wanting to read the next instalment right away and that is exactly what I plan on doing.

I am leaving my opinions brief so that I don't give too many spoilers and will have a more thorough review once I am done the entire series.

Watch for my review of Play Me Right, the final instalment, which I will be posting on December 11/14.

About the Author
Tracy Wolff collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget where—and sometimes who—she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—and at seven she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. Now an English professor at her local community college, she writes romances that run the gamut from contemporary to paranormal to erotic suspense.

And for all of those who want the unedited version:
Tracy Wolff lives with four men, teaches writing to local college students and spends as much time as she can manage immersed in worlds of her own creation. Married to the alpha hero of her dreams for twelve years, she is the mother of three young sons who spend most of their time trying to make her as crazy as possible. (From Goodreads profile)
