Blog Tour & Giveaway: Pulled Under (Kill Devil Hills #3) by Sarah Darlington

Pulled Under by Sarah Darlington
Synopsis:
man-child. noun.
: a grown man who is very immature, therefor considered a man-child

manwhore. noun.
: a promiscuous man who has no regard for his sexual partners or the emotional value of his relationships

Rhett Morgan couldn't have been more wrong for me. The guy drank beer in the shower, for crying out loud. He had no prospects for the future, had slept with half the women in our beach town of Kill Devil Hills, and had no desire to change his manwhore ways.

And when Ben Turner, the guy I had loved from afar for the past four years, died and I couldn't get over his death, I desperately needed a distraction. A distraction like Rhett. So I used him for a one-night stand. Because, after all, that's the only thing a guy like Rhett is good for...right?

***New Adult Romance. This novel is the third book in the Kill Devil Hills series, however it can be read as a standalone. Recommended for 18+

Kristine's Thoughts:

** I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.**

When I was first asked if I would like to read and review this book I was a little reluctant. It is the third book in a series and I didn't have the opportunity to read the first two in advance of it. I didn't need to worry because this book read as a stand alone and I had no trouble following along. The first two are about different characters. However, after reading this one I do want to go back and read the first two because it gave me a glimpse into the lives of these other characters.

This book is sure to please fans of the new adult genre. It hits all of the marks that make it so popular. First off, you have the innocent girl and the misunderstood bad boy that come together under unusual circumstances. There is chemistry galore. There are also many reasons and misunderstandings that keep them apart and makes things interesting, complicated and somewhat frustrating. Did I mention the heat? There is enough heat dripping off the pages to keep a campfire burning for an entire summer.

What I liked about the attraction between Rhett and Sydney was how they initially met. Although I found Sydney's tears over seeing Ben with his girlfriend at sixteen to be a little much, I loved how Rhett handled it and her. The note that he wrote her left me eagerly anticipating their next encounter a couple of years later. I can tell you that I was not disappointed!

This was the first book by Sarah Darlington for me but I can tell you that it won't be my last. New adult is my guilty pleasure genre and this book fit the bill for me. I easily finished it in one sitting. Now I am going to check out the rest of the Kill Devil Hills series.
