No Interest in Love is the second book in the All About Love series but can be read as a stand alone. The books are about completely different characters. I did have the opportunity to read Doing it for Love (book #1) first and loved it so I was really excited to dive into this one. I remember the first book being quite humorous so I was hoping to find more of the same in this one.
This book is basically about Jace and Shay's misadventures while trying to get Jace to a really important casting call. It is told from Jace's perspective in which he narrates like his life is a movie script. Shay is Miss Unlikely and Carletta (the leading lady in the movie) is Miss Sure Thing. You can tell where Jace's head is at just by those names alone. He is a playboy who isn't interested in relationships. He wants his no strings attached fun and nothing more. Needless to say, what he thinks he wants and what he finds himself wanting turn out to be completely different which complicates his life tremendously.
There is definitely some humour in this book. I wouldn't say that it was as funny as the first book but it definitely had its moments. The missteps the two had from planes, trains and automobiles were comical but I was hoping for a little more humour between Jace and Shay. I'd say that their interactions leaned a little bit more to the cute side, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
At first I wasn't sure that I liked Jace. He was cocky and had a one track mind. As I turned the pages I realised that he wasn't as bad as I had originally thought. He wished he was the type of guy that I don't like but in reality wasn't anywhere close. Shay, on the other hand, I loved from the beginning. She had the no nonsense, get things done attitude all wrapped up in a tiny little package. I could relate to her.
I enjoyed the book but I did find it a little too predictable. There were really no surprises or twists to be had. I also thought that the part that was narrated by Shay at the end was unnecessary to the story. It should have ended without that addition. Other than that it was an enjoyable and easy way to pass the time.
