This is one of those feel good stories. All the people are beautiful, the town is wonderful and friendly and conflict rarely happens. It is the perfect daydream. This was a plus and a minus in my books. On the plus side, everything was rainbows and unicorns and on the minus side everything was also rainbows and unicorns.
This is what I mean. Every male character was drop dead gorgeous. From Paula's boss, whom I think may have been featured in a another story, to her new assistant and then to Chase. The reader hears how attractive these three are over and over. A nice problem to have I guess.
I was guilty of not reading the synopsis prior to reading the book. This had left me a little confused because although I knew there would be a romance, I did not know who with. It took a long time before the reader realizes that it is Chase who is the male lead. For a while I thought it may have been the assistant. Had I have read the caption, I would have know to be a little more patient with the storyline because at first it is not overly obvious.
This is a story for someone who wants to read something where there is little to no conflict. The story only had an up side, to working its way to a major conflict/turning point. Yes there are some sad things in the story (death) and some nasty characters (Jason) but when it comes to Paula and Chase...smooth sailing the entire way. Personally I would have preferred a little bit more drama to keep me on my toes.
