This is the second book in the Monroe series that features the Monroe brothers. Although I feel that this could have ben read as a stand alone, I think there is greater value in reading the series in order. As I had already read the first installment, I was able to recognize several characters and know their backstories.
This story was original to me in the fact that the main character was blind. It was nice that a story could feature someone who had a disability who was also strong, independent and just as captivating as someone who has their vision. I must admit that I was also a sucker for Heidi, being a big fan of dogs in general and having a fascination with service dogs. It could be the fact that I am the proud mother of a golden retriever however as much as I lover her, she couldn't do what Heidi was able to do.
This was a story of finding ones independence, love and attraction and starting over. A similar theme has been evident in the series thus far and I suspect that the next instalment will be the same. Considering the start that the Monroe brothers had (no spoilers) I can see why.
This was a good read for me and I think it is my favorite in the series thus far.
