Sick of his lies, cheating ways, and complete lack of interest in fatherhood, Jessica left her boyfriend, Adam, only months after she gave birth to their son--and never looked back. Adam moved to France to follow his dream, unencumbered by a serious relationship and the child he never wanted.
Ten years later, Susan, Jess's mother, lies in a nursing home, battling a debilitating disease. Susan forces Jess to recognize what she's always refused to acknowledge: that William needs his father in his life.
So, Jess and ten-year-old William set off to spend the summer at Château de Roussignol, deep in the rich, sunlit hills of the Dordogne, where Adam runs a beautiful hotel. There, Jess has a mission: to make Adam fall in love with his own son.
By turns heartbreaking and hopeful, You Me Everything is a novel about one woman's fierce determination to grab hold of the family she has, and a romantic story about finding love even under the most unexpected circumstances

Kristine's Thoughts:
** I received an advanced readers copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!**
You Me Everything caught me off guard. Yes I did read the synopsis but I wasn't expecting the depth and seriousness that unfolded on the pages. I'm not sure why? Perhaps it was the cover. I know you can't judge a book by its cover but it screamed light, airy and perhaps a little bit cheesy. I was pleasantly surprised and thankful that it turned out to be a lot more.
Jessica had many reasons for her trip, most importantly so that her son could bond and form a more solid relationship with his father. Along the journey the reader discovers so much about Jessica, Adam and William. There were portions of the story that took on a light almost comical vacation feel but then there were portions that got me right in the gut. I can't say why, you need to read it to find out, but it added a depth and emotional level to the story that I really appreciated.
Ultimately this book was a story of family and friendships and the length that some people will go for the people they love. It managed to hit on almost every emotion, making the reader laugh one minute and cry the next. It was exactly what I need and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. It was a very pleasant surprise.
