Review: Maybe Now by Colleen Hoover

What is more important? Friendship, loyalty or love?
Colleen Hoover and Griffin Peterson collaborate once again to bring fans of Maybe Someday back into the musical world of Ridge and Sydney.
And Maggie.
And Warren and Bridgette.

This is a free follow-up to the NYT bestselling novel, Maybe Someday. It should be read after Maybe Someday and the novella spinoff, Maybe Not in the series.

Kristine's Thoughts:

Let me start out by saying that I absolutely loved Maybe Someday. The emotional connection between Ridge and Sydney was off the charts. I hung on to every word of that book and felt it deeply. It would be an understatement to say that I was just a little excited to revisit the characters from the book. Did I feel like there needed to be a sequel? No. I was content with how it ended and to this day it is one of my favourite Colleen Hoover books. However I am not one to say no to spending time with some of my favourite and memorable characters.

This book was just ok for me. You can't compare it at all to the first one. They are miles apart. I enjoyed Maggie and Jake's story. It started with them and gave me the same emotional flutters that Ridge and Sidney had in the first book. Unfortunately there wasn't enough of their story and way too much of everything else. I actually found Ridge and Sidney annoying at times and that just devastated me because I adored them in Maybe Someday.

I honestly think that a sequel just about Maggie would have been best, leaving the other characters out of it. They had their stories and this book risked changing the opinion the reader had of them. However, I will read anything that Colleen Hoover writes and this book was free so I can't complain about that. Although it wasn't my favourite by her, it was still an entertaining read.
