This book kept coming up as a recommendation on Amazon for me. The reviews were quite high on both Amazon and Goodreads so I decided to give it a go. I didn't read the synopsis and knew nothing about it before jumping in with both feet.

This book was about an extraordinary relationship between a boy and a girl that started at a young age and grew beyond measure from there. It was about young love and self discovery as well as strength and endurance. It was also about family and letting go.

It would do future readers no favours to go any deeper into the plot but I will say that it was a highly emotional book. I had tears on numerous occasions. In fact, there were a couple areas that surprised me with my tears. This book is not the type of romance to pick up when you want a cutesy love story. It definitely reminded me of a couple of other books I have read. If I had to describe it I would say that it reminded me a little of The Fault in our Stars and A Walk to Remember. Need I say any more about the tears? Having a good cry while reading a book does the heart good every once in a while.

Young people will love the relationship between Poppy and Rune. Theirs was definitely the type of relationship that fantasies are made of with the exception of a few key parts. Both Poppy and Rune were easy to like on their own and together. Even when Rune let his anger take over he was still likeable and I didn't find him that intense.

In the end, I really enjoyed the story. It was sweet and sad and exactly what I was in the mood for. The only thing I didn't like was the very ending of the book. I think it would have been better served to leave it out. Ending it at the letter would have made it more satisfying.
