Since splitting from her husband, Charlie’s life has been stuck in a rut. Best friend Mercedes will do anything to put a smile back on Charlie’s face and so draws up a bucket list of things to help Charlie recover her mojo.

Journalist Jake gives Charlie butterflies but he almost seems too perfect – there must be a reason why he’s single. Perhaps Rob would be a better bet – yes he’s short and he drinks too much - but a girl can’t have everything can she?
The final challenge on Charlie’s list looms large. Can Charlie complete it and prove to herself that life is for living, whatever may have happened in the past? And can Jake get through to Charlie and stop her from settling for the single life or, the wrong man?

It Looks like the title has been changes to Take a Chance on Me
The Woman Who Lost Her Mojo was one of those unsuspecting novels that starts out slow and quiet and then gained momentum, capturing you before it ends. I'll admit that I wasn't sure what to think at first. It was a little slow for my liking and not as humorous as I was expecting. As I continued to read it definitely improved and I found myself smiling a lot. Perhaps it was the authors intention to make it more interesting, funny and engaging as Charlie began to improve her quality of life. Maybe they were meant to go hand in hand. Whatever the intention, it worked!
On News Years Eve with way too many adult beverages, Charlie and her best friend Mercedes created bucket lists but decided that they would do each others lists instead of their own. Of course, Charlie had no recollection of this the next day but a home video proved that they agreed to do it. The wonderful (or not so wonderful if you were Charlie) thing about this was that Charlie had no idea what challenges were in store for her or what she would get to do next.
This was a story about personal growth. It was about overcoming losses and finding that place in the world meant only for you. There was also a bit of a lesson to be learnt within the pages. The fact that you are never too old to do and be the things in life that you want. It is never too late to start over and find your happiness.
I adored the characters in this book. They were unique, quirky and sometimes over the top. From Charlie's belly dancing friends and her furry friend Bert, I adored them all. More than anything though, I loved the unconditional love and friendship between Charlie and Mercedes.
In the end I really enjoyed this book. It made me smile on more than one occasion. I would recommend this book to women that may be struggling to start over or women that are looking for a nice feel good story. It might just give you the inspiration you are looking for.
