Feature and Follow Friday #45

Feature & Follow Friday is a weekly meme that allows book bloggers to interact with each other and find new blogs! It has two hosts, Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The rules are...

(Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}
(Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”
If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love…and the followers
If you’re new to the follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog.

This weeks question is...

Before blogging (dark times people!) how would you find out about new books or did you? - Suggested by A Great Read

We would hear about some books from word of mouth but not a lot of our friends were readers so the recommendations were few and far between. What we liked to do was to go to the bookstore and just randomly browse the shelves. With our Starbucks in hand, we would spend hours going up and down the rows until a book would speak to us. Each of us would buy at least six books, knowing nothing about them, and hope for the best. Some of the most enjoyable books we have read were found using this method. Once we discovered a book that we liked then we would buy any other books by that author.

How did you find out about new books?

That is our Feature and Follow Friday for this week! Comment down below if you're a new follower of ours with a link to your blog and we will make sure to follow you back. You can follow us via gfc, bloglovin, email, facebook and/or twitter.

  1. Mm.. now you're making me want a Green Tea Frappuccino at 10:30 at night!! lol That's what I would do, too. Pick up random books at bookstores that I thought were interesting and just pray that they were good haha.

  3. Hopping through. I love getting stuff at the bookstore cafe. Would you go to Chapters/Indigo? I went to the coolest looking Chapters when I was in Edmonton. It was a gorgeous bookstore.

    1. Yes we would go to Chapters or Indigo. The Chapters that we go to is huge and we love browsing the shelves there but our Indigo has a nicer YA section. You would think that they would both be the same seing as how they are the same company.

  5. Coffee and books is literally how I prefer to spend my saturdays now! Back in the day there was less coffee and more running around excitedly! I always feel bad for people who don't know how we can spend hours in a bookstore! I already seem to be following you everywhere! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great weekend!

  7. Mmm...Starbucks. I used to do that too. I'd pick out a stack of books at Borders or Barnes and Noble, get my coffee, and then try to read the first chapter in all the books I picked up. If I was interested, I got it, if it draged or didn't hold my interest, it went back to the shelf. I could spend the whole day at the bookstore. New Bloglovin' follower. Happy reading!
